Why Solar?

Many people in Thailand were willing to help the Burmese refugees.  Even the border patrol, at customs was happy to see this team as they yelled “Solar! Solar!” Without these alternative energies people in the refugee camps must pay large sums of money to ship fossil fuels in to use for energy hence, renewable energy is necessary.  There are already obvious forms of installation of the necessary alternative energy technologies as the team had the opportunity to tour a place with a solar array and a windmill.  It is evident that solar power systems for water purification and electricity have enhanced the quality of life of the Burmese refugees. The solar panels are more economically friendly then the purchasing of fossil fuels to power an entire society.   Solar power is a reliable source especially in Thailand where it is sunny and humid for the majority of the year.  These systems are also very durable, ensuring they will last for many years giving the children an efficient and modernized dwelling to live and learn.
